FAQ

KRATEO.AI is an AI-based prospect engagement tool that identifies anonymous web visitors by email, site activity and in many cases, key demographic data, to built detailed 1st party profiles that can be used to better build audience segments by behavior and intent and create more personalized campaign messaging across your sales channels. Krateo.ai also analyzes the campaign results of your formerly anonymous prospects and builds predictive insights that are unique to each customer and improve over time. This helps customers build deeper relationships with prospects and existing customers and improves the online experience at every stage of the buyer journey.

Krateo works by focusing on your anonymous visitors and helping you turn them  into potential lifetime customers. According to most SEO statistics, your website captures only about 2% of personal information or emails for your web visitors, meaning up to 98% of your visitors remain anonymous in terms of useful data like emails or demographic information. KRATEO.AI uses JavaScript “tag” technology to identify up to 30x more visitors by triangulating multiple data sources to deliver a high confidence around the information we return as part of our services. As more data is captured, KRATEO.AI can “learn” more about your prospects and help you turn them into brand loyal customers.

In terms of privacy, KRATEO.AI currently services only the US market and complies with all CCPA regulations. We also only ever use our customers’ existing web visitor information or current customer information (called first-party data). In keeping with CCPA requirements, KRATEO.AI is committed to never selling to or using a customer’s information for any third-party. We will only ever use your data to help you with your customers.

Krateo is not hard to set up at all. You get started in 3 easy steps.  We set up your account, give you your tag to place on your website (just like placing a tag in Google Tag Manager), and we have a call to walk you through the dashboard.  You can immediately begin leveraging a new funnel of brand aware prospects across multiple marketing channels. Typically, the person in charge of your website or leading your marketing campaigns can install the tag in as few as five minutes.

Our initial tests have shown that Krateo will not slow down your network or have any impact on any customer’s site performance. The code is embedded at the website root level and therefore becomes a part of the website’s functionality.

KRATEO.AI numbers will differ from other traffic numbers because we only identify real visitors to a website. According to Google, up to 47% of web traffic is bots, and are therefore unidentifiable by our platform. Another reason might be that your SEO provider uses different definitions to help analyze traffic data. According to Shopify “all analytics services use different tracking mechanisms, so your visitors aren’t recorded equally. While there are many possible reasons for differences in tracking results, some of them include:

  • Differences in how page reloads and unique visitors are counted. Google counts every page reload, but a browser doesn’t count reloads of cached pages.
  • Google can only count visitors with JavaScript and cookies enabled. Some visitors might not allow cookies or JavaScript.
  • Customers can use browser extensions to block Google Analytics from tracking their sessions and purchases.”

Ultimately, you can count on KRATEO.AI to identify only the visitors who did not specifically “opt out” of data collection (this can be up to 30% depending on the site). This ensures our compliance with all privacy requirements in the US currently. An important metric to understand before determining KRATEO.AI value is to know the current percent of voluntary data collected from your website today. This way you can see the direct impact of KRATEO.AI and its ability to help you build a bigger prospect list of already brand aware email addresses at a minimum

That answer varies from site to site, and is impacted by several factors, including the industry, season, or age of site, but we are finding between 10 and 15x more anonymous visitors than traditional data collection methods alone and in some cases, we’ve found 20x more.

GA provides data around web audience, behavior and conversions. However, these terms are loosely defined by Google and are shown in a series of “reports,” graphs primarily, that can be difficult to understand, or as Forbes reports “you can reverse-engineer this data to see what traffic mediums or locations most commonly occur for conversions and leverage those data points.” Our own marketing experiences have taught us that some tools appear to have been built by data scientists for data scientists. In fact, we don’t believe that data science should be a pre-requisite for making data useful. Therefore, our interface is intuitive and allows the user to “play” with the data in meaningful ways that don’t require any reverse-engineering at all. Also, though GA will provide demographic data to a degree, it does not provide you with an individual’s name, which is the only way we know how to actually personalize messaging. In fact, we do all the reverse-engineering for you so you can focus on improving your campaign outcomes and building stronger rapports with your customers. We see the fundamental difference between ourselves and GA as simple: we are a tool for sales and marketing professionals who want to get better results by building better direct customer relationships…period.

Ha. No. We are definitely not the same as SEO. Per Search Engine Land, SEO means the process of improving your website to increase its visibility in Google, Microsoft Bing, and other search engines whenever people search for products you sell, services you provide and information on topics in which you have deep expertise and/or experience. The better visibility your pages have in search results, the more likely you are to be found and clicked on. Ultimately, the goal of SEO is to help attract website visitors who will become customers, clients or an audience that keeps coming back. KRATEO.AI takes the strengths of SEO and puts them to better use by decoding many of the details of the visitor that SEO cannot identify on its own. SEO’s job is to help people find your business. KRATEO.AI’s role is to build important profiles of your web visitors after they find your business so that you can best personalize your campaigns with a goal of really “getting to know” your customers at a personal level. If SEO is a the inflatable “flappy man” designed to draw attention to your business, KRATEO.AI is the extroverted “life of the party” who gets to know everyone who showed up and turns them into new friends by getting to know them by name.

No. KRATEO.AI will not do your marketing campaigns for you, but we do make it possible to segment groups of brand aware visitors who have already visited your site and are aware of your product or service offerings by email, name, site behavior and more, which allows you to really get to know your prospects personally, a key difference between us and traditional “insight tools.” Our AI copilot, Hermes, will offer guidance and support on how best to approach your anonymous audiences but he does not do the creative work (yet). You also get critical AI- insights and recommendations on improving audience performance.

No. GDPR doesn’t apply because we only provide information on US traffic (not on European or UK traffic).

Krateo.ai complies with both CCPA and CPRA. However, we do not replace, dictate or supersede privacy policies for individual companies or customers, so it is incumbent on each company to ensure it is also compliant with these state regulations.
